Step 2.

Heat water to 195º F.

Step 3.

Add ground coffee, and water to French Press. Stir vigorously in an up and down motion. Leave no dry spots.

Step 4.

Place cover on french press (but do not press), and allow to steep for 4-6 minutes. You may find that different roasts do better with slightly shorter or longer steep times.

Step 5.

Plunge the Press all the way down & serve immediately.

Tips

  • Warm the coffee press first by rinsing with hot water as you prepare your coffee beans.
  • Use a carafe if you will not be consuming your coffee immediately. If you allow it to sit on the grounds too long it continues to extract, and becomes bitter.

  • A good rule of thumb to warm water to 195º i s to bring water to a boil, and remove it from the heat 1 minute prior to pouring over coffee grounds.

  • Have fun! Perhaps your water to coffee ratio is off, or you might use 194º water. That’s the beautiful thing about making your own coffee, you control the taste!
